We are helping to create a new forest in Finland
We are helping to create a new forest in Finland in cooperation with Carboreal. This initiative captures carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, supports biodiversity, and helps mitigate climate change.
The purchased carbon sequestration units are located in Salla, Lapland. The area is basically old peatland that has been abandoned for cultivation.
Soil emissions decrease – when cropland is afforested, the amount of carbon dioxide released from the soil is immediately reduced by half.
New forests capture carbon dioxide – growing trees remove CO₂ from the atmosphere.
